My husband is 35, overweight, and smokes and eats really bad. How can I inspire him to be healthier?

He eats a lot of salty foods and meat in every meal (unhealthy kinds) and smokes. He's not obese but he's heavier than he should be. I work out and eat healthy. I want him to live a long, healthy life but it's like he has no interest in doing that. I ask him to just walk with me and he says he hates walking. He's a hockey player but is currently not on a team (took a break for a season or two because of work). I am 10 years younger than him, vegetarian, and obviously female which makes my life expectancy supposedly a little longer by default. I wish I hadn't fallen in love with someone this unhealthy and older than me, too! I told him I would not marry a smoker so he quit but I recently discovered he is still smoking but has cut back a lot. I am happy he cut back. I love him so much I'm just afraid he's not seeing the big picture.
