Carboxylic Acids and Esters' solubility in water?

The evidence is there in terms of known solubility limits. Acetic acid is soluble in water in all proportions (vinegar is about 1 M acetic acid), as is EtOAc (ethylacetate). The lower acids and esters both have the highly polar -(C=O)-O unit in their structure which can act as hydrogen ion attractors in aqueous solution.
