Why have the Jews been the target of persecution for so many years?

Because we have kept our culture and customs exclusive to us, making us stand out wherever we go. As eternal "foreigners" it is easy for a xenophobic larger culture to pin their societal ills on us. We also have a tradition of entrepreneurship, which has often been misconstrued as greediness or laziness.
