Does hacking up greenish flegm mean respitory infection or just a bad cold?

Thought i had step due to a mive sore throat for about 3 days, accompanied by a dry cough and minor aches, but now my cough has developed into a nice juicy cough with greenish phlegm. Sore throat still hurts when I swallow... Could it just be a bad chest cold or strep?
