What options/choices do I take if I want to become a solicitor?

Law is a very academic subject and so it would be a good idea to pick academic subjects. Therefore history is a good choice and I would suggest other academic subjects such as triple science and another language (law firms are really keen on solicitors being able to speak several languages). Geography would also be a good option - it isn't a waste of time at all as it is still academic based and it will look a lot better on your CV than sociology (which is regarded by many universities as a 'soft' subject). I would advise against taking subjects such as 'food and nutrition', media and child development. To be brutally honest any half decent law school is just going to laugh at subjects like that as they aren't really regarded as, shall we say, 'intellectually challenging'.
