SPDIF/ coaxial cables, anybody?

Yes, I have a transport and a DAC. But I can't imagine a digital cable giving you static noise. I made my own and soldered it myself and it works perfectly. Since digital means that the signal gets there or it doesn't, I would look at other parts of your system - although it's not clear exactly what your setup is. Do you only use your headphones? Maybe they're the culprit.
