Ideally, should one be successful in one's own life before taking a vow of marriage/fraternity/communion?

I disagree with a plan=success, that said love is blinded by itself and desire overcomes strategy, it is what makes us human. In an ideal world love comes when it's ready and success has no material meaning. Just meeting my wife was one of my greatest successes, I already had skills and a plan.
